Academic Reset was founded by a middle school mathematics teacher after years of working with students who struggled not because they lacked ability, but because foundational gaps had followed them into more advanced coursework — particularly Algebra.
Over time, a clear pattern emerged: many students entering Algebra were still struggling with core mathematical foundations, problem-solving structure, and academic confidence. What began as a focus on Algebra intervention and mastery quickly expanded into a larger question:
What if students received stronger foundational support before those gaps became barriers?
That question led to the development of Academic Reset’s elementary academic support division, designed to strengthen foundational skills during the years when academic habits, confidence, and core understanding are first being built.
As the program continued to evolve, another important connection became increasingly clear: reading comprehension and critical thinking directly impact student performance across subjects — including mathematics. Students cannot successfully solve word problems, analyze information, or communicate reasoning without strong literacy and comprehension skills.
This understanding helped shape the future expansion of Academic Reset’s Language Arts and Social Studies divisions, creating a more comprehensive academic support model focused on foundational growth, structured learning, and long-term academic mastery.
Today, Academic Reset continues to grow as a structured virtual academic institution committed to helping students reset, rebuild, and reclaim academic mastery with confidence.
Academic Reset’s Algebra division was created to strengthen the foundational skills that support long-term success in mathematics. Because Algebra serves as the gateway to higher-level math and many future academic opportunities, students who struggle during this stage often experience declining confidence, increasing frustration, and growing foundational gaps that continue into future coursework.
Our programs are designed to interrupt that cycle through structured instruction, guided practice, and targeted skill reinforcement.
Support focuses not only on solving problems, but on helping students understand mathematical structure, recognize patterns, develop critical thinking skills, and build the confidence needed to work independently and successfully through increasingly complex material.
Academic Reset offers both:
Topics may include:
Programs are intentionally structured to provide clarity, consistency, and measurable academic growth through small-group intensives, individual support sessions, and guided reinforcement.
With more than 15 years of experience teaching middle school mathematics, Algebra intervention, and foundational skills courses, instruction is designed to meet students where they are while maintaining high academic expectations and building long-term mastery.
Academic Reset’s middle school Language Arts and Social Studies division is designed to strengthen reading comprehension, analytical thinking, writing, discussion skills, and academic confidence through structured instruction and meaningful engagement with complex texts and topics.
Support includes novel studies, literary analysis, writing development, vocabulary reinforcement, and critical thinking strategies designed to prepare students for honors-level coursework and long-term academic success. Social Studies support emphasizes historical analysis, discussion, research skills, and deeper understanding beyond memorization.
Instruction is led by experienced educational professionals with backgrounds in both education and leadership, combining academic rigor with real-world communication and problem-solving skills.
Academic Reset’s elementary support division is led by experienced educational professionals with decades of classroom and school leadership experience.
Designed for students in grades 1–5, support is available for enrichment, foundational skill reinforcement, and review in reading, writing, mathematics, and science. Sessions are structured to strengthen academic confidence, reinforce critical skills, and support long-term success.
